About Me

Hi, I’m the Simon who is an entrepreneur, technology guy and health sector specialist. I formed Cloud2 in 2008, after a rich career in the international medical device industry and the IT industry. I’ve done lots of things to get here: quality assurance, medical device development, international training, business intelligence and international marketing and health related information and technology.

I founded Cloud2 because the industry needed a new way of delivering successful projects based on Microsoft SharePoint. This created the first commercial ‘Intranet in a Box’ solution and kickstarted a new industry.

In 2000 I co-founded a software-based Clinical Outcomes measurement start-up in the US. In 2004 I created the Carelink division within ioko. In 2016, I co-founded Kinata Ltd. to enable effective Advice and Guidance in the NHS.

I’ve had articles and editorials published in a variety of technology, knowledge management, clinical benchmarking and health journals, including being a regular contributor to PC Pro; as well as a presenter at conferences. I remain a co-facilitator of the Power Platform User Group Leeds. I have two patents relating to medical devices and hold a BSc (Hons) in Physical Science and a PGCE in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Hull.

I’m passionate about rather too many things, including science, music (guitar and Octave Mandola), skiing, classic cars, the health sector, technology and, by no means least, family.
